Personality:
Kol has a certain youthful and nearly playful attitude most of the time, with a much darker twist. He has a sarcastic sense of humor and often patronizes his siblings with his cheeky snark and contempt. He is not the most stable sort of person, very unpredictable with bouts of rather erratic behaviors. Kol's emotions are extremely fluid and one can fade directly into another in mere moments and without so much as a simple warning.

He has a great sense of pride for who and what he is. He is an Original and that means he is above the rest, he is a force to be reckoned with and someone to be feared. He has an unending loyalty towards his family. Like most of the other siblings, despite their extremely dysfunctional and tense relationships, there is absolutely nothing that Kol would consider off limits if it meant keeping his family safe and together.

Kol is closest to his baby sister, Rebekah, she is the one that he feels understands him more than any of his brothers. She is the one he opens up to easiest about things and many times over the years he actually tried to get her to leave with him, but to no avail. He finds Elijah occasionally dull (though nowhere near as much as Finn!) and believes he should loosen up and have some fun and often mocks him for being stuffy and boring. And then there is Klaus. The sibling at the root of all of their dysfunction, as far as Kol is concerned. If not for Nik, the rest of them probably could have had happier lives filled with much less tension and heartache--and less decades-long naps to boot. There is a part of him that always hated his half-brother, if nothing else for the fact that he alone took the shine of brutality in the family and, well, Kol wanted a name made in his own right, not simply by being associated with and overshadowed by the terror of his brother.

Kol, like all of his siblings, possesses a great acting ability and can play nice and respectable when needed, especially to get something he wants. One need not to forget how aggressive that occasionally respectable man can get, however. He is menacing and at times unreasonable and it is not suggested to get on his bad side because it will not end well.

Condescending and arrogant, Kol truly does believe he is of a higher class than those around him, often his family members being the only ones who can stand on the same level as himself. He is the decadent sibling, focused on fun and pleasure, unfortunately for some, his tastes stray on the murderous side of things.

Romantic endeavours have never been a concern for him. He sleeps with anyone he pleases and rarely with the same person for any significant period of time. He has often mocked Rebekah's own desperate need for love because he does not really see the need for it. He has never held anything that could be considered a real relationship in all his years on Earth. Whether it be because of an inability to love, or simply not finding the right person to strike his interest is up for debate.

Despite this unpredictability that seems to define him, Kol can be very patient and methodical when he needs to be. He is cold and calculating, always trying to stay a few steps ahead, plan his next move and consider all of the different angles that could lead to a need to change his game. Once he has made up his mind, Kol is a very persistent sort and does not easily give up on a goal. However that same persistence that often gave him the upper-hand ended up being his downfall in the end.

Kol will not handle being stripped of his powers upon arriving in Teleios well at all. He has come to rely on virtually all of them in one capacity or another and being without will be undoubtedly terrifying. Being essentially human will make him feel weak and that just won't do at all. He will probably take awhile to adapt to the way things run in the city, but once he comes to truly understand and accept that he with not see a single ounce of his power until he complies with the rules, he will likely very closely toe that line.

This will be something Kol struggles with quite a bit. He has had these powers for over a millennia and being without them will be equal parts terrifying and infuriating. He has come to rely on his enhanced abilities a lot through the years and will likely not handle it well being without them. Being essentially human will make him feel weak and vulnerable, which he will not like one bit. He is used to being of the mostly unbeatable and unkillable sort and being so easily harmed will be something he does not like.

The lack of powers may potentially help him adjust to the overall inner workings of the city a bit quicker, but not by much. He will resist until he simply can no longer ignore it. Wen he is faced with being without the abilities he so closely relies on until he abides by the guidelines, it may be one of several varying reasons he pulls his act together in the end.

In the beginning, Kol will be heavily resistant to the rules and the overall expectations in the city. He isn't one for rules, they are only made to be broken as far as he is concerned. Likely, it will take at least few strikes against him before he accepts that things just are the way they are here. He's an argumentative sort and as such his mouth is likely to land him in some trouble for awhile. He won't handle it well, but eventually, he could fall into place. It will rely a lot on connections he makes to the right sorts of people to help influence him in the right manner, which could take some time considering his knack for troublemaking and stirring the pot.

Once he does catch on and fall into the routines of the place, Kol will be rather selective about the things he does, and toe the line between what is fun and what is accepted. He will help or protect his own, but getting him to go outside of his personal circle will be a struggle.

Despite their forever-strained relationships, Kol's loyalties will always lie with his siblings. He may be slightly harsh toward Rebekah at first, due to their threats to one another the last time he saw her. Their issues will be able to be worked through probably fairly quickly and ultimately, he with be glad to have her around. Should any of the rest of his family be around or show up, he would be most argumentative with Nik, hold fast to Elijah's typically unending attempts to reconcile their overly dysfunctional family, and incessantly mocking of Finn. He would be a bit more combined fearful/cautious and annoyed at the return of either of his parents.

He may be slightly antagonistic toward Matt, Caroline, Katherine and the Salvatore bothers for various reasons, but overall any issues he has with them with be largely manageable (except where their probably loyalties to the Gilbert's may make things worse). For the most part, he may be snarky and jerkish, but no real threat to them going in.

Kol has very strong and negative feelings toward the Gilberts and as such, he will be very hard pressed to keep any semblance of peace with Jeremy or Elena, considering it was their team effort that ended his life. In fact, it will be a good idea for people to do what they can to keep him away from them as much as possible. Any potential threats made toward them should be taken seriously and dealt with swiftly because he will not back down so easily from them.

He will be mostly indifferent to Tyler and Jackson and intrigued by Hayley and his niece.

[Sometimes Kol really hates the way things are among his family. So tetchy and rocky and unstable. No way of ever knowing which way things with turn out or how the tables may turn. He had often felt much more an outsider than a family member to his siblings through the years, being ignored or brushed aside for his antics. But then wasn't it all just a cry for attention? Perhaps. Or maybe he was truly as mental and depraved as he acted to be. Only Kol knew the truth to that.

Rebekah is the one he's been closest to in all his thousand years on earth. Maybe it's because they were so close in age, or something else entirely but he had always been protective of her. In a different way than the other, older brothers had been. Kol's was a less controlling and restrictive love and protection, especially compared to Nik's own. Then again, it doesn't take much to be that.

He thinks sometimes that perhaps he should have been part of a different family. Would have fit better in different dynamics somehow. But end of day? He wouldn't trade the lot of them for the world. They were his flesh and blood, and he would stand by them, always and forever.]
